The Story of the Calendar Project

Calendars are often of dogs, people and scenery which bring bare walls to life. This calendar combines all that in its own unique way to honour a special person's life, to raise money for a palliative care unit in Corner Brook (Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada) and to celebrate being women over forty years of age, healthy and happy with our body-shapes.

One woman's idea grew to be shared by many and Women, Age, Grace and Laughter, took off with a sense of humour, taste and commitment. Jake, Joanne's black Labrador dog, added his dash of colour and a way to remember Joanne Greenlee took shape. The goals of the calendar took on a meaning that embraced thousands of people from St. John's to Labrador City to Parsons Pond, across Canada, throughout the United States and even world-wide.

"The image of the flat-chested memorialized by the full-breasted would tickle her ironic soul until her slender frame ached. So, be sure that she is with you and if a faint peal of ironic laughter sometimes echoes in the back of your mind, don't worry. It will just be whatever remains of Jo, basking in the afterglow of a life well-lived and cause well-served."
... James G. Greenlee.
